ADA / Braille
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) gives civil rights protections to
individuals with disabilities. It guarantees equal opportunity for individuals with
disabilities in public accommodations, employment, transportation, State and
local government services, telecommunications, and requires ADA Signs.
Standard Braille signs or ADA signs make it easy for everyone to comply
with ADA Laws (Americans with Disabilities Act). All ADA sign pictograms,
borders, lettering and Braille are raised 1/32". Font used is always uppercase
and a sans serif or simple serif type. The characters and background of these
ADA signs shall be eggshell, matte or other non-glare finish. Characters and
symbols shall contrast with their background – either light char on a dark
background or dark char on a light background.
